Τηρεύς -έως, m., son of Ares, mythical king of the Thrakians, transformed into a hoopeo.
Φιλομήλα, -ας, f., (dative of possession), daughter of Pandion, king of Attica and sister of Prokne, was changed into a nightingale.
γλῶττα, -ης, or γλῶσσα, f., (gloss, glossary, polyglot), the tongue, language.
ἐχέτεμεν, (εκτέμνω), cut out.
